“HELP!” Kelly screamed at the top of her lungs. She’d just committed a murder. And she couldn’t face the body alone.
She moaned as she stood awkwardly with one foot stretched in front of her, covering her face with her hands.
“JODI!” she shrieked. “HELP!”
Panic washed over her as she considered her options. In their new home, Jodi may not even be able to hear her. What if she was upstairs in her bedroom? Would Kelly’s alarm-laden voice reach the upper level?
It didn’t matter. She’d scream until help arrived. “JODI!” A sob escaped her. “Why did this have to happen on the staff’s day off?”
“JO–“
Jodi skipped down the stairs, flinging her arms out. “What? What are you screeching about?”
“Oh, thank goodness,” Kelly gasped out. “There’s been a murder.”
Jodi offered an unimpressed stare and crossed her arms, leaning against one of the snarling lion statues flanking the stairway.
“At least, I think so,” Kelly moaned.
Jodi stood unmoving, prompting Kelly to wave her hands in the air. “Get something! There’s a body!”
